What it is

A discreet, structured investigation into a defined allegation, incident or exposure. Evidence is gathered, interviews conducted using cognitive interviewing techniques, and findings recorded in a form that supports internal disciplinary action, regulator engagement or litigation. Covers HR investigations (conduct and grievances), serious workplace incidents in care and regulated settings, corporate loss investigations (internal theft, fraud and misappropriation), and pre-inspection readiness audits ahead of Care Quality Commission or Ofsted inspection.
